Using a 6-axis robot arm and a hydraulic press to incrementally bend sheet metal.
In a novel approach to sheet metal forming, this project aimed to systematically deform flat metal strips into twisted 3D louvres using an ABB 140.
Through various experiments and iterations, a successful approach was found in the use of a pneumatic end effector to slide the material a cutting wheel mount to a hydraulic press. More information about the project can be found in this publication or this blogpost.
